The gifts of yoga are especially important to share with tweens and teens as they are developing lifelong habits and patterns. Yoga teaches them how to develop healthy patterns, both in posture and attitude. Through understanding the connection between body and mind, yoga encourages self-understanding and self trust.
Classes will include yoga postures (asanas), flowing movements, the focus on breath (pranayama), group and partner poses, and guided relaxation. They will learn how to safely navigate their changing bodies through yoga poses and they will get the many benefits yoga offers, such as, improved posture, the ability to relax, stress management, compassion, and many many more. The benefits of yoga for tweens and teens are endless!
Bio: Amy Louglin received her Teen yoga certification through Yoga 4 Teens under Christy Brock Miele. She has extensive experience working with children of various ages. Through her own yoga experience she was able to find balance and healing in her life.
Doing yoga at home with her children has been an extension of her practice and an inspiration for becoming an instructor. She is honored to be able to bring yoga to children/tweens/teens in hopes to use it to teach them about general body awareness, improve their confidence and focus, and most importantly, help them to develop overall sense of well-being.
