We all know that finding balance when you’re standing is tricky enough, but it’s a whole new challenge when you’re upside down! Inversions can be scary and difficult to navigate if you don’t know where to start. Inversions have tremendous health benefits for many reasons. The human body is more than 60% water, and susceptible to the pull of gravity. When you invert yourself, tissue fluids from your lower extremities drain even more effectively then when you sleep! Inversions also provide more efficient gas exchange in the lower lungs, rest your heart,stimulates pituitary and pineal glands, stimulates the nervous system, improves posture and digestion, calms and soothes the mind. On an emotional and spiritual level they help us to overcome fear, trust our strength and ability.
This workshop will provide you with the basic steps to build your inversions safely and give you the confidence to bring these postures into class with you. We will work on adho mukha vrksasana(handstand), salamba sirsasana(Headstand), pincha mayurasana(forearm stand) and salamba sarvangasana.
