When/where/with who was your first yoga class? First Yoga class was an Iyengar Class in September 1997, New Directions Yoga Studio in Brookline, Teacher Roni Brissette -  she studied w/Patricia Walden.

What /who inspires you? Watching people grow and transform and share in their experience.

What I love most about yoga is: The way it has made me connect physically, emotionally, and spiritually with myself. It has also allowed me to stay in the moment and speak my truth.

What you can’t live without? My life partner Maureen and my yoga practice.

What you might not know about me: I have a twin sister.

Best advice you’ve ever received (from who?): Be yourself and doubt your doubts – my teacher and mentor Shawn Shaw

Favorite Book: Don’t really have a favorite book.

My favorite thing to do(other than yoga): Take long walks, people watch, bike ride, hike and sit on the beach.

Anne Toupouzis instructs the following:
  • Beginner Flow (no heat)
  • An entry level class geared toward beginner’s -still a flow class, but more demonstration if needed. emphasis on alignment, breath and the foundational tools of a yoga practice. There is no heat added to these classes and students are encouraged to rest more.
    (No Heat)

  • Flow (Hot Heat)
  • MYoga Flow Yoga covers a wide variety of yoga styles. Including; Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Bikram and Baptiste. It is a vigorous practice that strengthens the core muscles in the body, enhances flexibility, while encouraging deep concentration and focus. All Flow Yoga is practiced in a heated room. The heat encourages perspiration, which helps to detoxify and cleanse the body. The muscles respond to the heat by relaxing and allowing us to move deeper into a posture. There is an assumption that you have practiced before, so there is less attention to alignment ques. This moves at a faster pace to elevate the heart rate and elevate the cardiovascular system as well as develop strength and flexibility. This practice will tone and sculpt your body and heal your soul. Be prepared to sweat, and discover your inner strength!  (Hot Heat)

  • Slow Flow (Mild Heat)
  • MYoga Slow Flow incorporates the same principles as MYoga Flow, with less postures than a regular Flow Yoga class — more emphasis on alignment, breath and the foundational tools of a yoga practice. We recommend 3 -6 classes before attending a regular Flow Yoga class. (Mild Heat)

  • MYoga Hatha Mix (Hot Heat)
  • This class will combine some of both of our primary styles taught at Metrowest Yoga, Vinyasa and Hatha.

    The Hatha is a slower practice with longer holds and more attention to specific alignment, the Vinyasa flows more with movement and breath synchronized. Each class will be unique with a different[Shawn Shaw] emphasis. (Hot Heat)
