Favorite inspirational quote: But For the Grace of God, there go I

When/where/with who was your first yoga class? 2010 Mystic Fitness and I think the teachers name was Mimi

What / who inspires you? Family, friends and nature

What I love most about yoga is: How it gets me out of my own head. The only thing that really matters on your mat is your breath.

What you can’t live without? Animals

What you might not know about me: I almost didn’t go to the retreat in Costa Rica due to my fear of bugs. I got hypnotized and it helped but I am still fairly irrational about it.

Best advice you’ve ever received (from who?): Get honest, first with yourself because without that you can never be real to anyone else. Shirley Waller

My favorite book: I honestly don’t read that much. I prefer music.

Favorite Word: The truth would not be appropriate. Second runner up Serenity

Local escape: My sister’s backyard just being lazy by the pool

My favorite thing to do (other than yoga): Travel

Nicole Ryan instructs the following:
  • Slow Flow (Mild Heat)
  • MYoga Slow Flow incorporates the same principles as MYoga Flow, with less postures than a regular Flow Yoga class — more emphasis on alignment, breath and the foundational tools of a yoga practice. We recommend 3 -6 classes before attending a regular Flow Yoga class. (Mild Heat)

  • Flow (Hot Heat)
  • MYoga Flow Yoga covers a wide variety of yoga styles. Including; Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Bikram and Baptiste. It is a vigorous practice that strengthens the core muscles in the body, enhances flexibility, while encouraging deep concentration and focus. All Flow Yoga is practiced in a heated room. The heat encourages perspiration, which helps to detoxify and cleanse the body. The muscles respond to the heat by relaxing and allowing us to move deeper into a posture. There is an assumption that you have practiced before, so there is less attention to alignment ques. This moves at a faster pace to elevate the heart rate and elevate the cardiovascular system as well as develop strength and flexibility. This practice will tone and sculpt your body and heal your soul. Be prepared to sweat, and discover your inner strength!  (Hot Heat)

  • Shakti Flow - Slow (Mild Heat)
  • Shakti is described as the “divine force, manifesting to destroy demonic forces and restore balance. This Vinyasa class is taught by senior teachers and will step outside our standard Vinyasa format. Each class has a different theme or focus and no two classes are exactly identical requiring students to cultivate an even greater sense of “present moment” attention and focus. There is an assumption you have practiced before and class will move at a quicker pace than slow flow. Be prepared to sweat and feel empowered.  (Mild Heat)

  • MYoga Hot Hatha (no heat)
  • This invigorating and mindful series that Shawn developed incorporates strengthening postures as well as emphasizing stillness and focus. Postures are held longer than our flow classes. The practice allows for students to work with their breath while developing strength and flexibility. Be prepared to transform your practice. Open to all levels. It will challenge the experienced student, but moves slow enough for a newer student. (No Heat)
