Clearing out toxins that build up in the body is very important for overall health. A periodic, healthy, natural detox is a great way to cleanse your system and revitalize your body. Combining a physical detox with mindfulness practices, like yoga and meditation, helps rejuvenate and bring balance to not just the body, but the mind and spirit as well.
We all have a tendency to over indulge around the holidays. What a perfect time to step onto your mat and cleanse!
Join Shawn for this fun and invigorating two hour Vinyasa class that will include deep cleansing twists, energizing back bends and healing hip openers. This detoxing class will be sure to turn up the heat and help burn off any of those holiday indulgences! Take your practice to another level with this powerful, sweaty class of deep twisting and soul cleansing. A sweet, beautiful internal holiday.
Treat yourself to two hours of pure relaxation! Chris Briggs will lead you through a series of simple but profoundly restorative yoga poses. Using props, we will help you find the support you need to fully relax and stay in the pose for 5-10 minutes allowing the body to open and the mind to let go. Eileen will provide Traditional Thai Yoga Massage techniques to help you completely release tension and stress. Thai Yoga Massage is a healing art based on Ayurvedic medicine and yoga. It focuses on balancing the physical and energetic bodies, clearing any blockages that may exist in the meridians. It is a hands-on practice that includes gentle compression, passive movement and stretching.
Solar/Lunar Flow (Workshop)
withHeatherCastagnaro at Worcester
Sat, Dec 9, 2017 at 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The winter solstice is fast approaching and although it represents the shortest and darkest day of the year it also marks the beginning of the sun's return to our hemisphere, bringing its vibrancy and warmth. Heather will be leading a 2 hour solar/lunar vinyasa flow class. The first hour of the class will focus on solar (warming and energizing) poses that will get your vital energy flowing. The second hour will focus on lunar (cooling and grounding) poses that will allow you to surrender into the space you have created. By honoring both the solar and the lunar qualities within you will be able to access your strength and grace and leave feeling balanced and rejuvenated. Without the shadow there is no light, and without the light there is no shadow. One cannot exist without the other.

Lara Hocheiser E-RTY, RCYT, B.A., has spent the last 15 years working in early education, and 12 of those years studying and living the path of yoga. Lara is the founder and program director of Flow and Grow Kids Yoga, which is based in Boston and NYC. Flow and Grow offers children’s yoga classes, teacher trainings, and professional development workshops. Lara has been invited to speak at universities, schools, childcare centers, and yoga studios as the expert on yoga for early childhood. She manages a team of instructors, a busy yoga-teaching schedule working with schools, yoga studios, and private clients. Lara has come to understand yoga as an important tool in building a culture of wellness, empathy, and connectedness. She continues to share yoga through education directly to the child, and perhaps more pivotally, to the educator, clinician, and parent who plant the seeds for the children of the world to harvest.

Mindfulness Meditation is the practice of peaceful-abiding. It is a practice that helps us cultivate strength, clarity, and peace of mind regardless of what circumstances life may be throwing our way. Rather than be tossed around by the inevitable ups and downs of life, we can learn how to show up fully for our lives with patience, appreciation, and even a sense of humor! True peace is the absence of struggling with ourselves and with our experience. Mindfulness Meditation helps us untangle ourselves from the habit of struggle and helps us learn how to be fully present for our lives.
This beginner-friendly series will be a thorough introduction to Mindfulness Meditation. It will help you learn how to establish a basic daily practice of your own (with plenty of support from your instructors), help you understand how to apply mindfulness to your daily life, and help you feel more centered, open, and clear which contributes to a healthy sense of well-being.
The course will be led by two senior certified Metrowest Yoga teachers, Rebecca and Molly, who will provide meditation instructions, guide you through each practice, provide ongoing support, with plenty of time for Q & A and open discussion.
