Metrowest Yoga Gives back to the Community
Each month the studio will choose a person of the month and pick a class of the month to raise money for this individual. We will donate all proceeds from the class and any donations that month. If you can’t make that class, please consider a donation. Any small amount would be greatly appreciated.
The class of the month is:
MYoga Hot Hatha – Thursdays 7:15pm Westboro Studio
The Person of the Month for November is a woman in our community
with Cerebral Palsy.
This disorder affects the brain and nervous system functions such as movement, learning, hearing, seeing, and thinking. She is relentless in her quest to be as healthy as her disease will allow. In order to attend corrective exercise sessions, she has to pay for transportation and the session. It is a hardship for her that Metrowest Yoga would like to help with.
Read what Mary- Anne (teacher at Metrowest Yoga) had to say about her friend (we are keeping her name anonymous to protect her privacy)
“She has undergone over 30 surgeries on her legs, has had some muscles removed and is deaf. For the past six months+ every Tuesday my corrective exercise lessons have been scheduled following hers. Against all odds, she has been getting more connected in her body. I have been witnessing her journey unfolding and she inspires me. She loves her lessons and scrapes together what she can to make it there. On average she waits 45 minutes for the cab to pick her up from her 30 minute lesson. This woman is vibrant and kind, it is a pleasure to see her and her service dog every week. I would love it if you all would join us on Thursday nights in November”.
